Snohomish motorcyclist dies in funeral procession on U.S. 2

SNOHOMISH — A man died Saturday while riding his motorcycle in a funeral procession on U.S. 2, the Washington State Patrol reported.

The man was headed east, approaching Bickford Avenue, when he crashed shortly before 10:30 a.m., Trooper Heather Axtman said. Other people from the procession started administering CPR right away.

A state patrol press memo said the man was in his 60s and lived in Snohomish. He was riding a Yamaha XVS 1100. The initial investigation suggested he lost control after his brakes locked up. No other vehicles were involved.
