Expand dementia-friendly programs

Those living with memory loss and their loved ones are invited to a Momentia North Snohomish County discussion, 2 to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 4 at the Stillaguamish Senior Center, 18308 Smokey Point Blvd., Arlington. RSVP by Sunday to Marilyn Enright at 360-653-4551, ext. 234 or menright@stillycenter.org.

The goal is to brainstorm ideas for expanding dementia-friendly programming in north Snohomish County.

The group is another “SnoMentia” branch-off of Seattle’s Momentia, a grassroots group. Homage Senior Services earlier started a south Snohomish County chapter.

Everett Public Works offers one-day sales of premade rain barrels for city residents. The next sale is 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at 3200 Cedar St. Cost is $55 per barrel, cash or check.

Community meal seeks helpers

Volunteers are needed for Annie’s Community Kitchen, a service of Edmonds Lutheran Church that provides a free hot meal 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays. Help is needed every day.

High school fundraiser

The Meadowdale Arts and Music Booster Organization holds a mattress sale fundraiser, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Meadowdale High School, 6002 168th St. SW, Lynnwood. There also will be a blood drive, until 4 p.m.

Get your hands dirty

Help build garden beds and learn to sheet mulch, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 7 at the Eagle Ridge Community Garden, 2420 Soper Hill Road, Lake Stevens. Bring gloves. Refreshments provided.
