Learn about Stanwood illustrator
The next History and Hors d’oeuvres event will feature the story of prolific illustrator Fanny Cory, who died in Stanwood in 1972. “Fanny: The Artist who made America Smile” begins at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Floyd Norgaard Cultural Center, 27130 102nd Ave. NW, Stanwood. Free, but donations are encouraged and welcome.

The Snohomish County Mycological Society holds its annual wild mushroom show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday in Floral Hall at Forest Park, 802 E Mukilteo Blvd., Everett. A free class on mushroom identification is at 1 p.m. The event is free, but donations are accepted.

Reservations for TEDx open Sunday
TEDxSnoIsleLibraries plans its annual symposium for 1 to 5:30 p.m. Nov. 4 at Kamiak High School. This year’s theme is “Sharing Our Future.” The speakers’ talks also will be streamed live on TV screens at eight local libraries and on the Sno-Isle Libraries website.
Registration for the main venue and viewing sites opens Sunday. The event is free.

Health insurance help
Sea Mar Community Health Centers staff will be on hand at the Mountlake Terrace Library from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesdays, Oct. 17, 24 and 31, to assist those enrolling in Medicaid or low-cost coverage health plans through the Washington Health Plan Finder. They also will help those applying for food stamps or cash assistance. Help also is available to those who have insurance but have questions about renewing their plan or about their coverage.
