Jeff Renner on climate
Interfaith Climate Action holds an event, “Our Changing Weather,” at 7 p.m. Thursday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 630 Seventh Ave. N, Edmonds. Former TV meteorologist Jeff Renner will speak.
The event also will discuss Taming Bigfoot Edmonds, a contest planned for early 2018 to encourage people to reduce their carbon footprint.

Whale Center opens
The Langley Whale Center celebrates a grand opening from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday of its new location at 105 Anthes Ave., Langley.
Enjoy hot cider and cookies while exploring displays and exhibits. New specimens on display include gray whale and orca calf skulls. The museum’s hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays.

Stormwater project
The city of Everett plans an open house at 6:30 p.m. Thursday about stormwater work around Legion Memorial Golf Course. The open house location is the clubhouse at 144 W.Marine View Drive. The work is part of efforts to combat flooding and sewer overflows.

Benefit concert
“Salute to America,” featuring The Everett Chorale, Shoreline Concert Band and Snohomish County Youth Choir, performs a benefit concert at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 8 at the Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 Fourth Ave. N. Coldwell Banker Bain sponsors the annual event. Tickets are $10 and available at the real estate brokerage, 108 Fifth Ave. S. Proceeds benefit the chorale, Shoreline Concert Band and the Edmonds Senior Center.

Teddy Bear Breakfast
Providence General Children’s Association’s annual Teddy Bear Breakfast is scheduled for 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Dec. 2 at the Tulalip Resort. Children’s entertainer Tim Noah performs at this event that features decorated trees. There also is a coloring book, raffle, teddy bear store and a photo opportunity with Santa.

Build a playground
Owners of the Wienerschnitzel restaurant in Everett are seeking volunteers to build a playground for a 2-year-old with a terminal illness. Volunteers would construct the playground at the child’s home in Seattle. The event is scheduled for 8 a.m. Friday.
