Genealogy help
Reference librarians can help patrons research their family roots using the “Ancestry” computer program by appointment from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Stanwood Library, 9701 271st St. NW. Registration is required. The monthly opportunity will take a break in December before resuming Jan. 13.

The Snohomish Genealogy Workgroup meets at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Snohomish Library, 311 Maple Ave. This month’s meeting immediately follows a Sno-Isle Libraries workshop, at 10 a.m., on how to write your family history (so that people will actually want to read it).

Sew quilts for charity
The Mukilteo Lighthouse Quilters meeting in November is a sew-in to make quilts for charity, 6:45 p.m. Nov. 21 (third Tuesdays except December) at the Rosehill Community Center, 304 Lincoln Ave., Mukilteo. Kits with tops, batting, backings and bindings will be provided. The meeting is free.

Donate a wreath
Toys for Tots seeks wreaths to auction off at the Port of Everett’s Holiday on the Bay event Dec. 2. To donate handmade wreaths by Nov. 22 contact Mary Butler at butlerm39@yahoo.com. All proceeds will benefit Toys for Tots of South Snohomish County, which provides local children with holiday gifts.
