Everett Community College: The theater arts department at EvCC offers “Stage Fright: The Wilde Liaison” by Clayton Weller at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 16-18 in Baker Hall, Room 120. Admission is by donation. Not suitable for children. Directed by EvCC instructor Beth Peterson, the cast includes Neal Akins, Jameson Cook, Devon Crabb, Genie Hopewell, Matthew Horsley, Sonja Kinzer, Cai Minto, Rachel Primrose and Chloe Rockwell. Commissioned specifically for the students of EvCC, the play was written in collaboration with the students. The story involves a drama club’s Victorian melodrama, which has not been produced since the late 1800s when it disappeared from public use under mysterious circumstances. During the production, mysterious events occur, forcing the actors to decide if they must discover the source of the treachery, or continue with the performance. The students are forced to overcome personal and literal obstacles in order to ensure that the show goes on.

Directed by Andrew Coopman, Mark Press, Molly Hall and Sarah Kessler, the multi-generational cast includes Liz Oyama, Joshua Pulley, Jimmi Cook, John Han, James Cheek, Dakota Daley, Adam Othman, Beaven Walters, Scooter Walters, Karin Terry, Katie Gary, Anna Vizzare, Laura McFarlane, Lara McLeod, Jim Walker, Miki Murray, TJ Burzynski, Leah Lee, Elissa Cortright, Sydney Kaser, David Hayes, Callie Nissing, Troy Johnson, C.Jay Roundy, Dima Pogrebniak, Bella Horvath, Sofia Nuno.

“My Three Angels” plays Dec. 1-17. A story featuring three convicts may not seem like traditional holiday fare, but these prisoners end up being true “angels” to a family facing financial and personal crises. Directed by Eric Bischoff, the cast includes Richard Morris, Justin Tinsley and Ben St. Hilaire as the three “angels,” as well as Steve Smith, Jacy Leavitt, Alexis Jones, John Chapman, Marli Bartness and Kathleen Sasnett.

“Twist of the Magi” — by the theater’s own Debra Rich Gettleman — will be presented Dec. 1-23. At 7 p.m. Nov. 16, enjoy a snack and catch a rehearsal of “Twist of the Magi, directed by Keith Dahlgren. From Page to Stage is 8 p.m. Nov. 18, as the theater offers a chance to meet Edmonds Community College’s new playwrights as they present 10-minute plays. Admission is free.

Tames Alan’s Women on the Western Front: In honor of Veterans Day, historian and actress Tames Alan will give a free program about women who served during World War I. The performance is set for 2 p.m. Nov. 19, in the auditorium at Everett Public Library, 2702 Hoyt Ave., Everett.

YOUTH THEATER

Jackson High School: The fall musical is “Hello, Dolly!” It’s on stage at 7 p.m. Nov. 16-18 in the school theater at 1508 136th St. SE, Mill Creek. Admission is $10 or $8 for students with ASB cards.

COMEDY

Improv Comedy Night: Third Saturdays at Cafe Zippy, 1502 Rucker Ave., Everett. Free.

Keith Johnstone’s Maestro Impro: This short-form improvisational game competition held at 8:05 p.m. each Saturday in November has Black Box Theatre’s team of improv comedians battle it out during a night of games and scenes to be crowned maestro at the end of the show. Playground workshop: Playground is a drop-by improvisation workshop held at 7:05 p.m. each Wednesday through the fall in the Black Box Theatre, 20310 68th Ave. W, Lynnwood, on the Edmonds Community College campus.
