Music for kids from 3 to 103
The nonprofit Everett Philharmonic Orchestra holds its “Music for the Imagination” concert at 3 p.m. Nov. 26 at the Everett Civic Auditorium, 2415 Colby Ave. Enjoy a selection of holiday favorites and a performance by young pianist Kaitlyn Gia Lee. Afterward, kids can “meet the instruments.”
Tickets are $20, $10 ages 5-18, free under age 5. Four or more tickets are $10 each.

Tree lights, tags fund causes
Donate $5 to sponsor a light on a living fir tree at the Frances Anderson Center, 700 Main St., to benefit the City of Edmonds Youth Scholarship Fund, which helps children participate in recreation programs. The tree will be lit this week through Jan. 2. Then it will be planted at a local park.

Also in Edmonds, a Giving Tree bears tags with gift ideas for children served by Christmas House through referrals from the Volunteers of America. Drop by Edmonds City Hall (121 Fifth Ave. N) or the Frances Anderson Center (700 Main St.) to select a tag. New gifts can be wrapped and brought back to either location by Dec. 13.

On Camano Island, people are invited to honor their pet with a special light on the CASA Lights of Love Tree. Donate $5 to the nonprofit Camano Animal Shelter Association and a Christmas tag with your pet’s name will be hung on a tree at Mark’s Camano Pharmacy at the Camano Plaza. Forms are at the shelter at 198 N Can Ku Road, or online.

Marysville police are accepting donations of new coats, hats and gloves for the Marysville Community Food Bank:
4:30-7:30 p.m. Friday at Walmart, 8713 64th St. NE
11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at Fred Meyer, 9925 State Ave.
11 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday at Walmart, 8713 64th St. NE
Help “Fill the Bearcat,” an armored vehicle, at these donation drive events, or drop off donations during business hours through Nov. 27 at the Marysville Police Department, 1635 Grove St.

Mill Creek recycling opportunity
Mill Creek encourages residents to recycle used fluorescent light bulbs between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays at City Hall, 15270 Main St. The LightRecycle program is free to residents and paid for from taxes on light bulbs. Businesses also can recycle their lights, up to 10 each day.
LED lights are not accepted. Lights can be turned in if they contain mercury, or are compact fluorescent light bulbs, fluorescent tubes, or high intensity discharge (HID) lamps.
There are LightRecycle drop-off locations throughout Snohomish County. Check the website for spots near you.
