Wintertide in Everett
Wintertide, a free community celebration, will be held 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Everett Performing Arts Center, 2710 Wetmore Ave. Enjoy arts and crafts, a holiday photo booth, Kidstage performances of “Aladdin,” hot apple cider, cocoa and cookies by the bonfire, and rides on the Rotary Express Train.
There also will be live music. Most activities are indoors.

Indian Education holiday program
The Skykomish Valley Indian Education program holds its annual Holiday “Make and Take” and family photos event, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the Display Hall at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds, 14485 179th Ave. SE, Monroe. Children can create craft projects for holiday decorating and gift giving. Native art will be for sale. There is a $10 suggested donation for family photos, with no admission or parking charges. Proceeds benefit the Skykomish Valley Indian Education Parent Organization scholarship fund and future cultural and family events. An open forum to discuss the program runs from 11 a.m. to noon. In addition, the program’s Native Youth Council holds a Kids Feeding Kids food drive to benefit the Sky Valley Food Bank.

Reception for councilmen
A reception is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Dec. 4 for outgoing Mukilteo City Councilmen Randy Lord and Ted Wheeler. Lord has served on the Mukilteo City Council since 2006, and Wheeler since 2013. The public is invited to the event at Mukilteo City Hall, 11930 Cyrus Way in Mukilteo.

Celtic Christmas concert
A concert featuring contemporary Celtic Christmas music is set for 7 p.m. Dec. 4 at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, 21405 82nd Place W, Edmonds. Admission is by donation of cash or non-perishable food to benefit the Chase Lake Elementary School Safety Net Program, which helps provide families living below the poverty level with food, clothing and extra homework help.

WAYS TO HELP
School food drive underway
Cascade High School kicks off its annual food drive Monday. Donate food, gifts and money through Dec. 13. Teens will then transform the gymnasium into a store where they will “shop” for individual families. Holiday packages of food and gifts will be delivered to the homes of more than 200 families, referred through the local Volunteers of America.

Firefighters collect donations
Santa will join Marysville firefighters from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday at Safeway, 1258 State Ave., Marysville, to collect non-perishable foods, unwrapped toys, new books, and cash or gift card donations for the Marysville Community Food Bank and Toy Store.
