Ferry terminal Q-and-A

Washington State Ferries hosts a drop-in session to answer questions and provide an update on the new Mukilteo ferry terminal, 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Red Cup Cafe, 619 Fourth St., Mukilteo. See design drawings, learn about planned construction activities, and share your feedback and ask questions.

Girls’ self-defense workshop

Girls in grades 6-12 can take a self-defense workshop, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Dec. 6 at the Mukilteo Library, 4675 Harbour Pointe Blvd. Learn the basics of self-defense and assertive boundary-setting taught by fifth-degree black belt Michelle McVadon.

Free flu shots

Molina Healthcare and SeaMar Community Health Center will host a free flu shot clinic from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Nov. 30. The event is scheduled at the SeaMar Community Health Center, 1920 100th St. SE, Everett. The free flu vaccines will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis to the first 50 adults and 50 children.

WAYS TO HELP

Blanket drive for Pioneer Services

The Snohomish County Tourism Bureau is collecting blankets to benefit local young men who live in residential homes operated by Seattle-based Pioneer Human Services.

Drop off blanket donations by Thursday at a Visitor Information Center:

Scholarship for second chances

The Edmonds Community College Foundation has started a fundraiser for a scholarship in honor of retiring President Jean Hernandez. The Hernandez-Foy Second Chance Endowed Scholarship provides aid to students with histories of incarceration or homelessness. The Foundation aims to raise $100,000, with help from matching donations, to create an endowed scholarship.

Girlchoir seeks members

The Northwest Girlchoir seeks new singers in first grade through high school to join its choirs. Girls in third grade and up must audition; an audition request must be submitted by Dec. 20. Practices are held at a Northgate church. Tuition and fees apply. Financial aid is available.
