Cat care on Camano
See the world from your cat’s perspective at a free Camano Animal Shelter Association program, “Enrichment and Behavior Program for Cats,” 7 p.m. May 17 at 141 E Camano Drive, Camano Island. Two local cat experts will discuss cat-related topics, such as owner sleep disruption, refusing food, senior cat comfort and much more.

Flea market in Lynnwood
The Lynnwood Kiwanis plans its annual Spring Flea Market for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 19 at Maplewood Presbyterian Church, 19523 84th Ave. W, Edmonds.
Free to attend. Sellers pay $40 for a booth to sell their garage sale items, crafts and merchandise. The rentals benefit programs for kids in the Edmonds School District.

Pet pageant benefits K-9s
A Pets on Patrol Pet Pageant on May 19 will benefit the Arlington Police K-9 program. Owners are invited to register their pet and compete in one of three categories: best dressed, pet-parent lookalike and best talent. Each entry costs $10.

Tall ships return
The tall ships Lady Washington and Hawaiian Chieftain return to the Port of Everett from May 25-30. The ships will be open for public tours on the weekends. Most events require tickets. There also are dockside tours for a suggested $5 donation.

Retiree seminar at Navy base
A seminar for retirees of all U.S. uniformed services will be held at Naval Station Everett, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday in the commons. The seminar is free and open to all authorized military ID cardholders, including surviving spouses.

OPPORTUNITY
Marysville beautification grants
Marysville offers grants for community beautification projects. New this year is an opportunity for downtown businesses to compete for funding. The deadline for applications is 5 p.m. May 25.
Grants of up to $7,500 will be awarded for community landscaping, neighborhood cleanups and other projects. Projects that are approved for funding must be completed by Oct. 1.
