Community Roundup: Neale ninth at British Championships

Amy-Eloise Neale has moved up a few rungs in the British distance running ranks.
The Glacier Peak High School graduate, who races competitively for Great Britain, finished in ninth place in the women’s 5,000 meters at the British Athletics Championships on July 1 in Birmingham, England.
Neale, who just completed a stellar collegiate career at the University of Washington, finished in a time of 16 minutes, 19.55 seconds. The time was 12 seconds behind winner Stephanie Twell, and 35 seconds slower than her time at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on June 9 in Eugene, Oregon.
This was the second time Neale competed at the British Athletics Championships. In 2016 she placed 12th in the women’s 1,500.
Street hockey moving indoors
The Silvertips Street Hockey Tournament is moving indoors this year. The annual event, put on by the Everett Silvertips, has traditionally been held at an outdoor venue. However, the tournament takes place Saturday, and this year it’s moving inside to Angel of the Winds Arena.
Play is four-on-four plus a goalie, with teams allowed as many as eight players. Divisions include 14-and-under, recreational adult (which will use shooter tutors instead of goalies) and competitive adult.
