HEADS UP
U.S. 2 work set for this weekend
Most of the remaining paving work on the westbound U.S. 2 has been postponed until spring. But in the meantime, construction crews still have to put down permanent striping and smooth out expansion joints in spots they did repave.
That work will close all the westbound lanes between Highway 9 and Highway 204 from 9 p.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday , as well as a single lane of the westbound trestle.
In addition, the westbound Highway 204 offramp and the westbound 20th Street SE offramp to westbound U.S. 2 are set to be closed 9 a.m. Sunday to 4 a.m. Monday.

Frightful actors, scare techs needed

Volunteer actors are needed as tour guides and characters. Backstage “scare techs” also are needed.
Event plans call for family-friendly tours, followed by full fright tours with midnight showings of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.”
