Learn about utility project

Edmonds city staff will discuss an upcoming utility replacement project at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Plaza Room above the Edmonds Library, 650 Main St. The city plans to replace the street and improve sanitary sewer, potable water and storm drain pipes on Dayton Avenue from about Third to Ninth avenues. The goal is to increase drainage capacity to help relieve flooding downtown.

Anti-trafficking safety tips

Hope Unlimited holds an anti-trafficking session for parents and their children, 1 p.m. Nov. 17 at the Camano Island Library, 848 N Sunrise Blvd. The event includes a speaker from Cocoon House of Everett and entertainment by a clown.

Enjoy a musical jam

Enjoy an evening of old-time music with fiddle, guitar, banjo and more with the Washington Old Time Fiddlers, 5 p.m. Friday, and every second and fourth Friday, at the Sisco Heights Community Club, 13527 99th Ave. NE, Arlington. There’s a Celtic jam at 5 p.m., workshop at 6 p.m., and circle jam at 7 p.m. Musicians are welcome, or just come and enjoy the music.

Take a bite out of domestic violence

Domestic Violence Services of Snohomish County holds its annual luncheon to “Help Take A Bite Out of Domestic Violence,” noon to 2 p.m. Nov. 29 at the Outback Steakhouse restaurant on Everett Mall Way. The luncheon helps kick off the nonprofit’s holiday gift drive; guests are asked to bring a new, unwrapped gift or gift card for an adult or child.

Cost for lunch is $15. Reservations required.

Apprenticeship celebration

Workforce Snohomish is holding a Snohomish County Apprenticeship Celebration, 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Sno-Isle Tech Skills Center, 9001 Airport Road, Everett. The event is open to the public. Interactive exhibits, food, informational talks. Registration is free.
