HEADS UP
I-5 in Marysville to close
Contractor crews working for the Tulalip Tribes are entering the final phase of construction on the new interchange at 116th Street NE and I-5 and plan to close the highway starting at 7 p.m. Saturday so they can safely test water and sewer pipes on the underside of the overpass.
Southbound I-5 closure plans: 7 p.m. Saturday, one lane closed; 10 p.m. Saturday, two lanes closed; 11:59 p.m. Saturday, all lanes closed.
Northbound I-5 closure plans: 8 p.m. Saturday, one lane closed; 10 p.m. Saturday, two lanes closed; 12:30 a.m. Sunday, all lanes closed.
All lanes are expected to reopen by 9:30 a.m.
The overpass also will be closed, from 11 p.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday.

VETERANS DAY
Veterans Day is Sunday, though some communities plan to mark the holiday on Saturday. Below is a list of local events.
Arlington
11 a.m. Sunday parade down Olympic Avenue through downtown. Sponsored by American Legion Post 76. Ceremony follows at Legion Memorial Park, 114 N Olympic Ave.
12:30 p.m. Sunday dedication of a new white granite tombstone for Civil War veteran Cpl. John Grant at Arlington Pioneer Cemetery, at Fifth Street and Gifford Avenue, organized by the Stillaguamish Valley Genealogical Society.
Everett
11 a.m. Sunday ceremony on the lawn at the Snohomish County Courthouse campus, 3000 Rockefeller Ave., near the spot of past ceremonies. The Snohomish County Central Memorial Committee holds this annual event.
Lynnwood
11 a.m. Sunday ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park at 44th Avenue W and Veterans Way (194th Street SW).
Mill Creek
– 9 a.m. Saturdayceremony at Mill Creek Veterans Monument at Library Park, 15429 Bothell-Everett Highway.
11 a.m. Saturday parade down Main Street at Mill Creek Town Center, between LA Fitness (15024 Main St.) and City Hall (15720 Main St.), followed by a mini car show of classic cars and antique military vehicles at City Hall.
Stanwood
11 a.m. Saturday tribute at the Floyd Norgaard Cultural Center, 27130 102nd Ave. NW, adjacent to the new Community Veterans Memorial.
1 to 4 p.m. Sunday veterans and their families are invited to a free spaghetti feed at Stanwood American Legion Post 92, 26921 88th Ave. NW. Stay for the Seattle Seahawks game on the big screen. Open to the public.
Tulalip
11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday Veterans Day Gathering of Remembrance and Honoring at the Hibulb Cultural Center, 6410 23rd Ave. NE. Admission waived for veterans and active duty military and their families. Events include posting of colors, roll call, light lunch, a lecture on Native military service, a veterans healing forum, and a bracelet-making workshop with a Tulalip veteran.
