Pedestrian hit, killed on Highway 99 in Edmonds

EDMONDS — A man died after being hit by a vehicle Monday night on Highway 99.

The man, 44, was crossing the highway near 236th Street SW when he was struck before 9 p.m. He initially had serious injuries and was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where he later died, the Edmonds Police Department said.

Edmonds police said the driver remained at the scene and there was no indication of impairment.

The road was closed for several hours.

The incident is being investigated.
