Here are the prep stars of the night for Friday, May 3:
Sidney Wright, Meadowdale girls tennis
Wright, a freshman, won 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1 singles to help the Mavericks beat Jackson, 4-3.
Iyanla De Jesus, Jackson softball
De Jesus, a senior, tossed a one-hit shutout, fanning 14 while allowing three walks, in the Timberwolves’ 2-0 victory over Lake Stevens.
Kendall Curtis, Glacier Peak softball
Curtis, a senior, blasted two home runs and drove in three runs in the Grizzlies’ 11-1 five-inning win over Mariner.
Amaya Poole, Jackson girls track and field
Poole, a senior, won the 100 meters with a time of 13.06 seconds and ran a 27.53 to win the 200 at the Everett School District Championships. She also helped the Timberwovles’ 4×200 relay team to a first-place finish.
Michael Purl, Cascade boys track and field
Purl, a sophomore, ran an 11.69 to win the 100 and a 23.62 to win the 200 at the Everett School District Championships. He also helped the Seagulls’ 4×100 relay team to a first-place finish.
