SEDRO-WOOLLEY — The body of a missing Sedro-Woolley man has been recovered from the Skagit River.

The Skagit Valley Herald reported that the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office received a report about 11 p.m. Thursday that a man who had possibly been fishing in the Skagit River near Fruitdale and River roads in Sedro-Woolley was missing.

Chief Criminal Deputy Tobin Meyer said a family member had gone looking for the man and found his unoccupied vehicle in the area.

A helicopter crew with U.S. Customs and Border Protection was called to assist in the search and was able to locate his body not far from his vehicle.

Meyer said his body was recovered Friday morning.
