Fabric sale in Everett
Valley View Bible Church is accepting donations ahead of a big fabric sale next weekend at 9717 31st Ave. SE, Everett.
Donations will be taken from 1 to 6 p.m. Friday. The sale is planned from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
Most fabrics and knitting yarns sell for $1 a pound. That includes quilting cotton to corduroy. Also available are an array of materials for cross stitch, wool fabric, zippers and more.

Yoga by Lake Stevens
Lake Stevens hosts Yoga by the Lake on the first and third Saturday of each month through August. Classes are free and open to anyone 10 and up. The next one is at 9 a.m. June 15, with more to follow at the same time on July 6 and 20, then on Aug. 3 and 17.
They take place at Lundeen Park, south of Lundeen Parkway at 99th Avenue SE.
Sessions are led by Nikki Watts of Om Yoga Northwest.

Stanwood Farmers Market
Visit the Stanwood Farmers Market from 2:30 to 6 p.m. Friday. The market promotes the idea of shopping locally with agricultural producers, food artisans and craftspeople. Newly renamed for this year, it opens every Friday through early October at 8706 271st St. NW.

Firework fine increase
The city of Marysville reminds people that the fine for lighting any fireworks in the city is now $513. That number has nearly doubled since last Fourth of July, when the penalty was $257.
Voters approved the firework ban a few years ago. New this year, the city plans to put on a free show starting at 7 p.m. July 4 at Marysville Pilchuck High School.

National Forest volunteers needed
The Mount Baker Ranger District is looking for volunteers to help educate day hikers, backpackers and climbers on four of the busiest Mount Baker-area trail systems: Heliotrope Ridge, Skyline Divide, Park Butte/Railroad Grade, Yellow Aster Butte, and Heather Meadows/Artist Point.
Mountain Steward volunteers receive training in low-impact recreational skills, natural history and backcountry management issues. They volunteer for three daytime shifts interacting with the public on trails.
Applicants must be 18 or older with outdoor recreation skills. (Exceptions can be made for high school students).
Volunteers must attend trainings July 13 and 20 and commit to serving three weekend days before Sept. 8. A third optional training on Aug. 3 is for volunteering at Heather Meadows. The application deadline is June 30.
