AquaSox capitalize on mistakes, beat Dust Devils

PASCO — The Everett AquaSox capitalized on 11 walks, four errors and two wild pitches in a 7-1 win over the Tri-City Dust Devils on Wednesday at Gesa Stadium.
Patrick Frick went 2-for-4 with a double and two walks and helped Everett snap a two-game losing streak.
In his second professional start, Seattle Mariners second-round pick Brandon Williamson pitched 1.1 innings and allowed no runs on one hit. He walked two and struck out one in his 30 pitches.
Juan Mercedes (3-3) entered after Williamson and pitched 5.2 strong innings to earn the win. He allowed one unearned run on three hits, struck out five and walked none.
With the victory, Everett (17-16) kept pace with the Spokane Indians, who beat the Vancouver Canadians 6-5 on Wednesday. The AquaSox remained two games back of first place in the Northwest League North Division standings with five games remaining in the first half of the season. The first-half champion receives an automatic bid to the Northwest League playoffs.
