AquaSox pick up crucial win against Indians

EVERETT — Damon Casetta-Stubbs pitched six-plus strong innings and the Everett Aquasox’s first-half title hopes stayed alive with a 6-4 win over the Spokane Indians on Saturday night at Funko Field at Everett Memorial Stadium.

Casetta-Stubbs gave up five hits, three earned runs, one walk and struck out four to earn the win.

Marysville Pilchuck alum Trent Tinglestad hit his third home run of the season, a two-run blast, and Carter Bins hit his fourth, also a two-run homer, in the victory. Cesar Izturis Jr. added two hits and scored two runs for the Aquasox.

With the win, Everett (18-18) picked up a game in the standings on Spokane (20-16). The AquaSox are now two games back of first place in the Northwest League North Division standings with two games remaining in the first half of the season, both against the Indians.

The first-half champion receives an automatic bid to the Northwest League playoffs.
