Motorcyclist identified in deadly crash south of Everett

EVERETT — An Everett man killed in a motorcycle crash has been identified as Karey Swett.

He had been riding around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 13200 block of Fourth Avenue W, when he crossed the center line and collided with an oncoming SUV, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.

Swett, 63, died at the scene from blunt force trauma, the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office announced Thursday. The other driver wasn’t hurt.

Detectives were looking at speeding as a potential cause of the crash, according to the sheriff’s office.

Roads were closed for hours for an investigation.
