Rescue teams search for two missing hikers near Downey Creek

DARRINGTON — Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies were searching Tuesday for two missing hikers at Downey Creek trailhead.
David James and Marshall “Buster” Cabe left on Aug. 16 and were expected to return this past Friday, according to a sheriff’s office release.
Family members called 911 Monday to report the men missing. They had food and supplies to last one week and family members believe their intended route was Downey Creek Trail to Bachelor Creek to Cub Lake. One of the men is believed to be in his 50s, the other in his 60s.
Anyone with information about their whereabouts is asked to call 911.
Several other groups joined the sheriff’s office search and rescue team to look for the men.
