PREP STARS OF THE NIGHT FOR THURSDAY, SEPT. 12
MacKenzie Whyte, Snohomish volleyball
Whyte, a junior outside hitter/middle blocker, set a school record with 13 service aces in a 3-0 win over Edmonds-Woodway, according to Snohomish coach Alex Tarin. Whyte added six kills and 10 digs in the sweep.
Peri Welch, King’s girls soccer
Welch, a junior forward/midfielder, scored the only goal of the match in the 30th minute off an assist from Olivia Gabelein, helping the Knights to a 1-0 win over Cedar Park Christian in the North Sound Conference opener for both teams.
Acacia Preza, Lynnwood volleyball
Preza, a senior sett, recorded 30 assists, 10 digs and a pair of service aces as the Royals beat Marysville Pilchuck 3-1 in the Wesco 3A opener for both teams.
