PREP STARS OF THE NIGHT FOR WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 25
Ellie Baxter, Snohomish girls cross country
Baxter, a junior, completed the 4,466-meter course at Ballinger Park in 16 minutes, 33.20 seconds to win the individual title and help the Panthers win in the team standings.
Dawson Coe and Jake Sulya, Marysville Pilchuck boys tennis
Coe and Sulya battled Stanwood’s Huston Rawls and Liam Cunningham to a 22-20 victory in a third-set super tiebreaker at No. 2 doubles during a Wesco 3A North match at Totem Middle School. Needing to win by two points, Coe and Sulya finally clinched the victory on an out ball by the Stanwood duo, according to Tomahawks’ coach Evan Shaw. Stanwood won the match, 4-3.
