LYNNWOOD — A man suspected of trying to rob two Lynnwood banks, one right after the other, was arrested Thursday in Skagit County.

The robber entered a KeyBank at 11:34 a.m. Tuesday in the 19800 block of 44th Avenue West, implied he had a weapon and demanded cash, according to Lynnwood police. He was denied.

He then went to a Wells Fargo across the street and did the same thing. This time he left with cash, police said.

Police could not find him in the area, but detectives said they eventually were able to identify a suspect.

Officers in Mount Vernon arrested the man more than 40 miles north of the banks Thursday, on unrelated charges.

No other details had been released.
