Lake Serene holiday party
Santa Claus is coming to a fire house near you.
South County Fire is inviting families to its 26th annual neighborhood holiday party Saturday at the Lake Serene Fire Station 23 in Lynnwood.
Parents are asked to bring a wrapped gift worth $10 or less, labeled with the first and last name for each child attending the event.
Santa Claus will hand out the gifts to the children during the party. The party starts at 10 a.m., at 4323 Serene Way in Lynnwood.

Christmas craft fair
Trinity Episcopal Church in Everett is hosting a Christmas craft fair and lunch Saturday.
Vintage Christmas items and baked goods are on sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and a soup and sandwich lunch is served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Trinity Episcopal Church is located at 2301 Hoyt Ave.

Movie screening at Everett library
The Everett Public Library is hosting a free film screening at 2 p.m. Dec. 15 at its main branch, 2702 Hoyt Ave.
The film, “I Am Not a Witch,” follows an 8-year-old girl who is taken from her village and accused of witchcraft. The film approaches real-life injustices with a beguilling blend of sorrow, anger and humor, according to an event description.
The movie runs 93 minutes.

Lynnwood seeks commission members
Six city of Lynnwood boards and commissions are looking for new members.
Applications are being accepted for current or upcoming openings on the arts commission, history and heritage board, human services commission, parks and recreation board, planning commission and ethics board. No formal experience is required.
City boards and commissions are voluntary advisory groups to the city and usually meet once a month.
Applicants must live in Lynnwood city limits or unincorporated areas, and have to be registered to vote.

WAYS TO GIVE
Drive held to collect musical instruments
Local nonprofit Music4Life is collecting new and used instruments for students in the Everett School District.
The group hosts a donation drive the first Friday of each month and will be at the Everett Public Schools Community Resource Center on Friday from 10 a.m. to noon.
Old instruments in garages and attics should be put “back into play so a new generation of students can benefit from them,” Superintendent Ian Saltzman said in November.
Cash donations are also accepted to help pay for instrument repair costs.
