PREP STARS OF THE NIGHT FOR TUESDAY, FEB. 18:
Allison DeBerry, Arlington girls basketball
DeBerry, a senior guard, scored 11 points off the bench, including a buzzer-beating jumper to end the third quarter, as the Eagles clinched a 3A state regional berth with a 55-46 win over Ferndale in a 3A Northwest District Tournament semifinal.
Alex Jensen, Lakewood boys basketball
Jensen, a senior guard, scored 14 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter, including a perfect 8-for-8 from the free-throw line, as the Cougars clinched their first-ever state regional berth with a 58-47 win over Burlington-Edison in a 2A Northwest District Tournament semifinal. Burlington-Edison entered the game ranked No. 1 in the WIAA’s 2A RPI rankings.
