The Athlete of the Week nominees for March 15-21. Voting closes at midnight Sunday. The winner will be announced with next week’s poll. Each weekly winner will be included in an Athlete of the Month poll. Last week’s winner is included below.

Madison Nguyen | Archbishop Murphy | Volleyball
Nguyen, a junior, posted 29 digs, 13 kills and three aces in a 3-1 loss to Shorewood. She won last week’s poll by claiming 692 of 2,763 (25.1%) votes.
This week’s nominees:
Madelynn Butler | Lake Stevens | Girls Swim and Dive
Butler, a junior, swam her way to the top time among all swimmers in the Wesco ladder — a list of swimmers from 15 of the league’s 19 programs — in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.73 seconds in a time trial March 15.
Dylan Carson | Marysville Pilchuck | Football
Carson, a junior, ran for 241 yards and four touchdowns on just 13 carries as the Tomahawks beat Arlington 42-19.
Summer Dean | Everett | Girls Swim and Dive
Dean, a sophomore, posted the top times among all swimmers in the Wesco ladder in the 200-yard freestyle and 400 freestyle during a time trial March 15. She posted times of 2 minutes, o.55 seconds in the 200freestyle and 4:24.77 in the 400 freestyle.
Kaelyn Fernandez | Jackson | Girls Soccer
Fernandez, a junior, scored four goals to help the Timberwolves stay unbeaten with a 7-1 victory over Marysville Pilchuck.
Taylor Helle | Arlington | Volleyball
Helle, a senior, had 24 digs, two assists, one kill and one aces in 3-1 victory over rival Arlington. She added 15 digs in a 3-0 win over Marysville Pilchuck.
Kiana Hinckley | Mountlake Terrace | Volleyball
Hinckley, a senior, delivered 14 kills and 12 digs in a 3-1 win over Shorecrest.
Abby Kyles | Kamiak | Girls Soccer
Kyles, a senior, notched three goals in the Knights’ 6-1 win over Cascade.
Tyson Lang | Glacier Peak | Football
Lang, a senior, completed 18 of 30 passes for 229 yards and four touchdowns in the Grizzlies’ 39-6 victory over Archbishop Murphy.
Ian Newsom | Meadowdale | Football
Newsom, a senior, rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries and returned an interception 33 yards for a game-winning touchdown in the fourth quarter to lead the Mavericks to a come-from-behind 13-7 victory over Lynnwood. He added nine tackles, including two for a loss of yardage, on defense.
Steele Swinton | Edmonds-Woodway | Football
Swinton, a senior, needed just 13 touches on offense to rack up 165 yards and five touchdowns in the Warriors’ 47-0 win over Shorewood. Swinton ran the ball 11 times for 137 yards and four scores and caught two passes for 28 yards and a touchdown.
Mac Whyte | Snohomish | Volleyball
Whyte, a senior, posted 20 kills, three digs, two assists and one ace in a 3-0 win over Everett. She followed that with 21 kills, 14 digs, four aces, one block and one assist in a 3-1 victory over Shorecrest.
