MARYSVILLE — A Marysville man died Sunday when his car collided with a motorcycle on I-5 south of Marysville, before the Snohomish River bridge to Everett.
Around 3:54 p.m., the Marysville man, 56, was driving a Chevrolet Malibu southbound and reportedly speeding when he was between lanes and rear-ended the motorcycle, knocking the driver off the motorcycle and into the brush along the right shoulder, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The sedan went off the highway, rolled into two other vehicles and landed on the embankment. The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the car and died.
The motorcycle driver was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett for treatment.
The cause was under investigation, and the name of the man who died was withheld until his next of kin was notified.
