First Round
Glacier Peak 1, Gonzaga Prep 0
SPOKANE — Ryann Reynolds scored a goal in the first half and freshman goalkeeper Sammie Thoma made key saves down the stretch as No. 12 Glacier Peak traveled across the state and beat fifth-seed Gonzaga Prep in the opening round of the 4A state tournament on Wednesday night.
Glacier Peak (15-4-0) advanced to face No. 4 Skyline in the quarterfinals at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Skyline beat Glacier Peak 4-1 in the Wes-King Bi-District Tournament last week.
West Valley (Yakima) 2, Jackson 1 (OT)
YAKIMA — Kaitlyn Rudick scored the game-winner in overtime as No. 9 Jackson’s season ended with a hard-fought road loss to No. 8 West Valley in the opening round of the 4A state tournament on Wednesday night.
Kaelyn Fernandez scored the first goal of the game to give Jackson (13-5-0) an early lead, but West Valley drew even before halftime and neither team found the back of the net in the second half.
West Valley will face No. 1 Camas in the quarterfinals on either Friday or Saturday.

2A DISTRICT 1 TOURNAMENT

Lynden 3, No. 2 Archbishop Murphy 0
BELLINGHAM — Madison Nguyen had 13 kills and 15 digs, but second-seed Archbishop Murphy was swept by No. 3 Lynden in a winner-to-state semifinal of the 2A District 1 Tournament on Wednesday night.
Natalie Russell had five kills and seven digs, and Alishia Nichols added three kills, 21 assists and five digs for Archbishop Murphy (14-5), which will next face No. 5 Squalicum in the consolation semifinals. The winner of that match will advance to the third/fourth-place match with a chance to earn a state-tournament berth.
Loser-out consolation
Sedro-Woolley 3, Lakewood 0
BELLINGHAM — Seventh-seeded Lakewood’s season ended with a straight-sets loss to No. 6 Sedro-Woolley in a loser-out consolation match of the 2A District 1 Tournament on Wednesday night.
Lakewood finished its season with a 5-14 overall record.
