The Athlete of the Week nominees for Nov. 15-21. Voting closes at midnight Sunday. The winner will be announced with the next poll and in next Tuesday’s paper. Each weekly winner will be included in an Athlete of the Month poll.

Last week’s winner

Ellina Powell | Jackson | Volleyball

Powell, a senior, had 23 assists, 21 digs and 14 kills and she helped the Timberwolves secure a 25-14, 11-25, 26-25, 25-16 victory over Issaquah in the Class 4A Wes-King Bi-District Tournament. The win clinched a state tournament berth for Jackson.

This week’s nomiees

Dylan Carson | Marysville Pilchuck | Football

Carson, a senior, ran for 427 yards and five touchdowns on 28 carries to lead the Tomahawks to a 39-21 win over Yelm in Class 3A state quarterfinals on Nov. 20. He scored on runs of 65, 1, 22, 90 and 53 yards.

Jayden Limar | Lake Stevens | Football

Limar, a junior, rushed for 131 yards and four TDs on 20 carries in the Vikings’ 35-14 victory over Gonzaga Prep in the Class 4A state quarterfinals on Nov. 20. He also had one reception for 34 yards.

Allie Williams | Archbishop Murphy | Girls soccer

Williams, a senior, delivered a shutout with four saves in front of the net to help the Wildcats secure a Class 2A state title with a 2-0 win over Hockinson on Nov. 20.
