MARYSVILLE — Someone apparently tried to light a homemade explosive Sunday afternoon near a gas station on Fourth Street.

A caller reported seeing the suspected explosive with a large fuse on the corner of the property. Officers cleared people from the business and nearby residences while they investigated. It appeared the attempt to light the explosive was unsuccessful, according to the Marysville Police Department.

Officers were investigating the incident and asked anyone who saw something to call the Marysville Police Department at 360-363-8300.
