STEVENS PASS — The state closed U.S. 2 across Stevens Pass in both directions most of Monday morning due to avalanche danger.

The Washington State Department of Transportation announced the closure from milepost 58 near Scenic to milepost 64 at the summit at 1:15 a.m.

It reopened just before 11 a.m.

Stevens Pass Ski Area wasn’t able to open Monday either.

The state also closed I-90 across Snoqualmie Pass. It was expected to reopen by Monday evening.
