LYNNWOOD — A 36-year-old man was shot overnight while delivering food in Lynnwood, police say.

The man and his friend were making DoorDash deliveries when he believed he recognized two men standing outside in the 4600 block of 168th Street SW, according to police. They started talking.

The 36-year-old man told detectives he realized he didn’t know the two people, so he drove off as the conversation turned into a confrontation.

He made a U-turn to head back to Highway 99, but as he passed the two men one of them fired a gunshot through his windshield, the wounded man told officers. He was hit in the shoulder. The injuries were serious but not life-threatening, according to Lynnwood police.

The man drove himself to the Swedish Edmonds hospital.

Lynnwood detectives were working Wednesday to identify the suspects. Anyone with information about the shooting can contact the detective at rsattarov@lynnwoodwa.gov.
