Berezowski scores No. 45, Silvertips top Americans

KENNEWICK — Jackson Berezowski potted his 45th goal of the season late in the second period to give Everett the lead and the Silvertips held on for a 2-1 win over the Tri-City Americans on Saturday and the Toyota Center.

Ben Hemmerling opened the scoring for Everett with a goal just 1 minute, 18 seconds into the game.

Connor Bouchard tied the game at 1-1 with a goal late in the first period for Tri-City.

The game stayed even until Berezowski scored the game-winner on a power play off assists from Olen Zellweger and Michal Gut.

Braden Holt stopped 25 of the 26 shots he faced for Everett (44-10-4-5), which has just five games remaining in the regular season.

Tomas Suchanek stopped 20 of 22 shots for Tri-City (18-41-5-0).

The Silvertips next travel to Spokane to face the Chiefs on Wednesday night.
