AquaSox fall to Indians

SPOKANE — The Everett AquaSox’s five-game winning streak came to an end with a 9-3 loss to the first-place Spokane Indians on Tuesday night at Avista Stadium.

Spokane’s Drew Romo hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the third and two-run triple during a four-run fifth. Daniel Montano went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI and Eddy Diaz added three hits and an RBI for the Indians (22-16).

Spokane starter Mike Ruff (4-2) struck out three and allowed three hits and three walks over six scoreless innings.

Victor Labrada hit a two-run home run and Noelvi Marte had two hits, including a double, for the AquaSox (16-22).

Everett’s Jimmy Joyce was roughed up for eight runs on 11 hits and one walk over five innings. He struck out six.
