Local author and illustrator publish kids’ book

“The Moon is Following Us,” a new book co-authored by Everett resident Patrick Foley and illustrated by Monroe resident Julia Chamness, has been published. The book’s co-author is Ruth Hargiss of Costa Mesa, California, who is Chamness’ sister.

In the book, a girl named Sam discovers, on her way to Grandma’s house one Halloween night, that the Moon is following her whenever she looks to the night sky. How long will it stay with her?

The 36-page paperback was released by Dorrance Publishing Co., Inc. and can be purchased at bookstore.dorrancepublishing.com/the-moon-is-following-us.

Author to talk about latest book in Edmonds

Mary Lou Sanelli will be speaking about her latest book, “Every Little Thing,” at 6 p.m. Sept. 15 at the Edmonds Bookshop, 111 Fifth Ave. S., Edmonds.

“Every Little Thing” has been nominated for a Pacific Northwest Book Award, a Pushcart Prize, and a Washington State Book Award. Sanelli has published four previous works of non-fiction, including “Among Friends,” a national book club choice. Her first novel, “The Star Struck Dance Studio of Yucca Springs,” was released in 2020.
