LAKE STEVENS — Highway 9 travelers through Lake Stevens will need to use a detour this weekend as two projects close sections of the highway.

Crews are scheduled to finish installing the roundabout at Highway 9 and South Lake Stevens Road. The work requires the highway’s closure from as early as 9 a.m. Thursday to 4 a.m. Monday. The start time was being firmed up.

Traffic can take a detour using Highway 204 and U.S. 2, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

Local access to businesses and residences located outside of the construction zone will be allowed, but no through traffic.

Work on another roundabout at North Davies Road and Vernon Road near the intersection of Highway 9 and 204 could affect traffic. North Davies and Vernon roads are set to close from as early as 9 a.m. Thursday through 5 a.m. Tuesday.

A detour will use local streets.
