EVERETT — The pedestrian who was struck by her boyfriend’s truck Monday evening in Everett fractured her skull, according to police.

Just before 4:30 p.m., a Lake Forest Park man, 38, was in an argument with his girlfriend of eight years in a parking lot in the 4900 block of Evergreen Way, an Everett police officer wrote in a report. During the argument, the man decided to leave, he told police.

The Lake Forest Park man reported the woman started yelling at him and held onto the door of his truck. He quickly drove away, a witness reportedly told investigators.

When the woman fell to the ground, the suspect came back to check on her, according to the officer’s report. Officers later found she had fractured her skull and pubic bone.

Police arrested the Lake Forest Park man for investigation of third-degree assault domestic violence, defined in state law as “criminal negligence” that “causes bodily harm to another person by means of a weapon or other instrument or thing likely to produce bodily harm.”

On Tuesday, the suspect remained in custody at the Snohomish County Jail. He was set to make a first appearance in front of an Everett District Court judge in the afternoon.
