Poems sought to honor Arboretum

The Evergreen Arboretum and Gardens in north Everett will mark its 60th year in 2023. Part of the celebration will be “Out on a Limb, Poetry in the Trees,” co-sponsored by the Everett Public Library.

Two dozen selected haiku and/or short poems (think tweets in length) will be stamped on clay tablets and hung from the limbs of trees along the pathways of the arboretum, 145 Alverson Blvd.

Entries must have a nature theme, but need not reference the arboretum.

The deadline to enter your poem or haiku is Dec. 16. To enter, epls.org/outonalimb. No more than two entries per poet. Judging will be done by a committee appointed by the Arboretum board.
