WINNIPEG, Manitoba — Olen Zellweger tied the game late in the third period, but Zach Benson scored just two minutes later as the East Division-leading Winnipeg Ice rode three third-period goals to a 5-4 win over the Everett Silvertips on Tuesday night.

After an early goal from Ryan Hofer, the Silvertips added goals from Austin Roest and Caden Zaplinty in the second period to take a 3-2 lead into the final frame.

Goals from Owen Pederson and Connor McClennon gave the lead back to the Ice with 14 minutes to play.

Zellweger got the equalizer on assists from Roest and Jesse Heslop at 11:31 in the third, but Benson scored at 13:31 and Winnipeg held on for the win.

Braden Holt started in goal for Everett (8-5-0-0) and stopped 29 of 34 shots.

Daniel Hauser made 37 saves on 41 shots for Winnipeg (14-1-0-0).
