Stanwood 8, Meadowdale 4
STANWOOD — Mason Goodson struck out 12 and did not allow a run on just one hit in five strong innings and also added a home run at the plate as No. 10 Stanwood topped No. 11 Meadowdale in an opening-round loser-out game of the 3A District 1 Tournament.
Goodson, Ryan Cheeseman and Braedon Requa all had two hits for Stanwood (11-10), which advanced and will travel to face No. 7 Arlington at 4 p.m. on Thursday in another loser-out game.
Brody Bluhm and John O’Connell each drove in a run in a four-run seventh inning, but Meadowdale (11-11) could not complete the comeback and its season came to an end.
Mountlake Terrace 2, Marysville Getchell 1
MOUNTLAKE TERRACE — Tyler Song struck out seven and allowed just one run on six hits in a complete-game effort as ninth-seeded Mountlake Terrace edged No. 12 Marysville Getchell in an opening-round loser-out game of the 3A District 1 Tournament.
Griffin Potter went 2-for-2 with an RBI and Tyler Shankle finished 1-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored for Mountlake Terrace (12-9), which advanced and will travel to face No. 8 Shorecrest at 4 p.m. on Thursday in another loser-out game.
Marysville Getchell’s season came to an end with an overall record of 7-14.

Jackson 4, Glacier Peak 1
MILL CREEK — Rachel Sysum tied the school record with her 11th home run of the season and Jackson inched closer to securing at least a share of the league regular-season title with a win over Glacier Peak.
Sysum finished with two RBI, Macie Dean hit a solo home run and Yanina Sherwood struck out 12 and allowed just one unearned run on hits for Jackson (17-1, 5-1 Wesco 4A), which is tied with Kamiak atop the standings with two league games remaining. The two teams split their two games played this season.
Ashleigh Wojcik doubled, Faith Jordan struck out six and allowed just one earned run on two hits in three innings, and Maya Mesa struck out seven and allowed one run on one hit in three innings of relief for Glacier Peak (12-3, 2-3), which is currently tied with Lake Stevens for the third and finally bi-district playoff berth from District 1 with three league games to go.
Kamiak 18, Mariner 1 (5)
EVERETT — Frances Famatiga went 3-for-3 with three RBI and Kamiak posted 19 total hits and moved closer to at least a share of the league regular-season title with a win over Mariner.
Elisabeth Funston went 2-for-3 with a double and Emma Stansfield allowed just two hits in five innings and earned the win in the circle for Kamiak (17-1, 5-1 Wesco 4A), which is tied with Jackson atop the standings with two league games remaining. The two teams split their two games played this season.
Blythe Gorham went 1-for-1 with a double and two walks for Mariner (0-15, 0-6).

Monroe 19, Lynnwood 5 (5)
BOTHELL — Lillian Knuckey hit a grand slam and Scarlett Nagy went 4-for-5 with a double and a home run as Monroe stormed to a league win over Lynnwood.
Hadley Oylear went 4-for-5 with a double and Anniston Oylear doubled and struck out four in a complete-game effort in the circle for Monroe (6-12, 6-7 Wesco 3A/2A).
Nyree Johnson had a double and a triple, and Sydney Weitkamp added a double for Lynnwood (4-13, 3-10).
Everett 12, Archbishop Murphy 3
EVERETT — Riannon Botz went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI, and Samantha Stine finished 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI as Everett rolled to a league win over Archbishop Murphy.
Shayne Hoekendorf went 4-for-5 with two doubles and an RBI, and Isa Davis finished 2-for-5 with a double, an RBI and also struck out five and allowed just two hits in 4.2 innings of relief for Everett (9-9, 7-6 Wesco 3A/2A).
Chloe Hogue doubled and drove in two runs, and Gabby Cummings went 2-for-4 for Archbishop Murphy (7-11, 4-9).

ARLINGTON — Katie Krueger hit the first home run of her career, drove in three runs and struck out nine in a complete-game in the circle as Lakewood earned a league win over Bellingham.
Emma Joy Wise went 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI, Madyson Holthaus finished 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, and Mary Jo Morales added a double for Lakewood (7-8, 7-5 Northwest).
Bellingham fell to 0-17 overall and 0-12 in league play.
