Police: Gunman at large after trying to abduct barista south of Everett

EVERETT — Deputies are looking for man who tried to kidnap a bikini barista on Highway 99, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.

Around 12:17 p.m., a man pulled up to Ladybug Espresso in the 13500 block of Highway 99 and threatened a barista with a gun, sheriff’s office spokesperson Courtney O’Keefe said. He reportedly told her to get in his vehicle.

The two were apparently strangers. The car was found abandoned about 2½ miles north of the espresso stand at the Windstone Apartments at 1011 128th St. SW, with a gun visible inside, police said.

Witnesses reported seeing the man fleeing from the car on foot.

No description of the suspect had been publicly released.
