Darrington 56, Winlock 14
WINLOCK — Mikey Soito scored four touchdowns to lead the Loggers in their non-league eight-man season opener.
Hunter Anderson passed for 216 yards and three scores for Darrington, while McKinlee Green led the Loggers’ defense with nine tackles.

Issaquah 21, Everett 0
EVERETT — The Eagles broke a scoreless tie with two touchdowns in the second quarter, then coasted to the non-league victory over the Seagulls in the season opener for both teams.

Marysville Pilchuck 40, Edmonds-Woodway 14
EDMONDS — Joseph Davis had 142 yards rushing and scored four touchdowns as the Tomahawks won going away in the non-league season opener between teams that advanced to the Week 10 playoffs last season.
Luke Shoemaker was an efficient 19-for-25 passing for 212 yards and one touchdown, and Marcus Gaffney caught nine passes for 122 yards for Marysville Pilchuck.

Monroe 34, Roosevelt 25
SEATTLE — The Bearcats raced out to a 28-7 lead in the first quarter, then held on to win their non-league season opener against the Roughriders.
Roosevelt pulled within 28-25 in the fourth quarter and had the ball, but Monroe forced a turnover on downs, then scored the clinching touchdown late in the game.
Blake Springer was 17-for-25 passing for 237 yards and three touchdowns, one each to Nick Mouser, Iseah Canizales and Ryan Miller. Gavin Ranz scored two touchdowns on the ground.

Lake Stevens 48, Garfield 21
LAKE STEVENS — The defending Class 4A state-champion Vikings began their title defense by earning a measure of revenge against the Bulldogs, who defeated Lake Stevens to open last season.
The Vikings led 27-7 early in the third quarter before Garfield scored two quick touchdowns to pull within six. However, Lake Stevens then scored the game’s final 21 points to win going away.
Lake Stevens quarterback Kolton Matson had a huge game, throwing five touchdown passes, completing two each to Jesse Lewis and David Brown. Steven Lee. Jr. also caught a TD pass, while Isaac Burks added a late rushing touchdown for the Vikings.

Arlington 46, Kamiak 8
ARLINGTON — The Eagles dominated from start to finish, building a 39-0 halftime lead over the Knights in the non-league game.
Leyton Martin threw three touchdown passes in the first half for Arlington, while Caleb Martin had two rushing TDs in the first half for the Eagles.

Glacier Peak 20, Snohomish 13
SNOHOMISH — The Grizzlies remained perfect in the Dick Armstrong Cup at 12-0, but only just as the Panthers mounted a furious last-minute comeback that came up just short.
Chrisvin Bonshe scored the second of his two rushing touchdowns midway through the fourth quarter to give Glacier Peak a seemingly safe 20-7 lead.
However, the Panthers gave themselves a chance when Mason Surdi pulled down a desperation fourth-down pass from Evan Ruiz and scored to make it 20-13 with 1 minute, 55 seconds remaining. Snohomish’s Zayah Nelson then recovered the ensuing onside kick, and the Panthers drove to the Glacier Peak 21-yard line. However, a fourth-and-five pass fell incomplete as the Grizzlies held on.
Mariner High School transfer Isaiah Cuellar rushed for the other touchdown for Glacier Peak.
Brody Strandt ran for Snohomish’s other TD.

Central Kitsap 35, Mariner 13
EVERETT — The Marauders dropped their non-league season opener to the Cougars.

Marysville Getchell 25, Cascade 14
MARYSVILLE — The Chargers scored 19 straight points after falling behind 7-6 as Marysville Getchell won the non-league contest against the Bruins.
Shawn Ethridge scored on runs of 90 and 29 yards for Getchell, while Arion Palacol also ran for two TDs for the Chargers.
Zach Surowiec threw touchdown passes to Brandon Lagutang and Gabriel Dulan, and Zach Lopez had 113 yards rushing on 19 carries to lead Cascade.

Stanwood 37, Lakewood 16
STANWOOD — The Spartans raced out to a 23-0 halftime lead, then pulled away late after the Cougars made it a game in the third quarter.
Cruise Swanson ran for two touchdowns, including a 42-yard dash to open the scoring, to lead Stanwood, while Luke Brennan, Ethan Burke and Canyon Bumgarner also scored rushing touchdowns for the Spartans.
Lakewood scored twice and converted two two-point conversions in the third quarter to pull within 23-16.

Shorewood 35, Lakeside (Seattle) 15
SHORELINE — The Stormrays pulled away in the third quarter of the non-league game against the Lions. Shorewood led 14-7 at halftime, then outscored Lakeside 21-0 in the third quarter to take control of the contest.
Jacob Lindberg rushed 20 times for 153 yards and two touchdowns to lead Shorewood. Tyler Giles ran 16 times for 89 yards and a score, and he was also 9-for-14 for 60 yards passing and another score, which was caught by Nico Zacharias.

Stadium 26, Cedarcrest 21
TACOMA — The Red Wolves raced out to a 14-0 lead, but couldn’t hold off a late Tigers charge and dropped their non-league season opener.
Senior running back Jake DiMarzio rushed for 74 yards and three touchdowns and senior JT Marsh caught five passes for 138 yards. Junior quarterback Conner Altmeyer threw for 170 yards and two touchdowns, including a 74 yard catch-and-run by Marsh.

Archbishop Murphy 17, Lake Washington 14
KIRKLAND — The Wildcats made a 32-yard field goal as time expired to win the non-league game against the Kangs in dramatic fashion. It was a big victory for Archbishop Murphy, as the Wildcats were winless in 2022 and it was new head coach Joe Cronin’s first game.

Sultan 48, Evergreen (Seattle) 3
SULTAN — The Turks got their season off to an impressive start with the dominating victory over the Wolverines.
Sultan spread the wealth as Benjamin Dilger and Jonathan Van Pelt each rushed for a touchdown, Julio Vargas Jr. and Hayden Murphy each caught a TD, and Connor Talik returned a kickoff for a score. Kaden Koehler only threw four passes, but he completed three of them for 104 yards and two touchdowns.

Meridian 22, Granite Falls 13
BELLINGHAM — The Tigers dropped the non-league season opener to the Trojans. Granite Falls fell into a 22-0 halftime hole, and although the Tigers rallied in the second half, it wasn’t enough.

Meadowdale 44, Shorecrest 6
EDMONDS — The Mavericks got off to a strong start to the season with the non-league victory over the Scots.
Cameron Platt did it all for Meadowdale, running for two touchdowns and throwing two TDs to Victor Eicher. Platt finished the game 9-for-11 for 138 yards passing, while Eicher caught seven balls for 118 yards. The Mavericks also had Avery Pelote return an interception 45 yards for a score.

Mountlake Terrace 34, Jackson 6
EVERETT — The Hawks cruised to victory over the Timberwolves in the non-league season opener.
Zaveon Jones rushed for two second-quarter touchdowns as Mountlake Terrace built a 28-6 halftime lead. Logan Tews added two TD catches from Arian Motaghedi for the Hawks.

King’s 26, Lincoln (Seattle) 7
SEATTLE — Noah Clark threw for 176 yards and three touchdowns and Colton Adams had 14 receptions for 125 yards and a touchdown as King’s opened its season with a non-league win over Lincoln (Seattle)
Clark also rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries, and Braeden Caulk had 24 carries for 111 yards for King’s.
