LAKE STEVENS — The Vikings set themselves up for a chance at a 10th straight perfect Wesco season with the convincing victory over the Knights.

Kolton Matson threw two touchdown passes and ran for a third to lead Lake Stevens (7-1 overall, 3-0 Wesco 4A), which can complete an undefeated decade of Wesco games if the Vikings win at Glacier Peak next Friday.

Kamiak fell to 1-7, 1-2.

Glacier Peak 35, Jackson 7

EVERETT — Lucas Entler threw touchdown passes to four different players, leading the Grizzlies over the Timberwolves.

Entler threw TDs to Ben Williams, Isaiah Cuellar, Chrisvin Bonshe and Dylan Healy, while Bonshe also ran for a score for Glacier Peak (6-2 overall, 3-0 Wesco 4A), which hosts Lake Stevens for the Wesco 4A championship next Friday.

Tyler Lykken returned a fumble 82 yards for a touchdown for Jackson (2-6, 1-3).

Wesco 3A North

Marysville Pilchuck 41, Mount Vernon 21

MARYSVILLE — The Tomahawks forced a three-way tie for second in the Wesco 3A North with the victory over the Bulldogs.

Marysville Pilchuck (5-3 overall, 4-2 Wesco 3A North), Marysville Getchell and Ferndale all finished tied for second heading into the Week 9 crossover games. The identity of the Nos. 2, 3 and 4 seeds are yet to be determined.

Mount Vernon fell to 1-7, 0-6 and did not qualify for the crossovers.

Ferndale 34, Stanwood 7

FERNDALE — Connor Walcker was too much to handle in the first half, scoring three touchdowns — including on the game’s first play from scrimmage — as the Golden Eagles defeated the Spartans.

Max Mayo returned the second half’s opening kickoff for a touchdown for Stanwood, cutting the deficit to 21-7. But that was all the Spartans could manage.

With the loss Stanwood (3-5 overall, 2-4 Wesco 3A North) is the division’s No. 5 seed and faces South No. 3 Mountlake Terrace in an elimination game next week.

Ferndale improved to 6-2, 4-2 and finished tied for second in the North with Marysville Pilchuck and Marysville Getchell.

Marysville Getchell 28, Oak Harbor 18

OAK HARBOR — The Chargers finished off a banner regular season by defeating the Wildcats to secure a Week 9 crossover game.

Marysville Getchell (6-2 overall, 4-2 Wesco 3A North) finished in a three-way tie for second with Marysville Pilchuck and Ferndale. How the Chargers, Tomahawks and Golden Eagles are seeded two-through-four is yet to be determined.

Oak Harbor fell to 2-6, 1-5 and did not qualify for the crossovers.

Wesco 3A South

Edmonds-Woodway 13, Mountlake Terrace 10

EDMONDS — The Warriors scored the game-winning touchdown with just 40 seconds remaining, and Edmonds-Woodway clinched both second-place in Wesco 3A South and an automatic berth into the Week 10 playoffs with the victory over the Hawks.

In a defensive slugfest, the Warriors trailed 10-7 late in the game. But Edmonds-Woodway quarterback Steven Warren Jr. found Jesse Hart III in stride for a 34-yard touchdown to give the Warriors the lead. Then Diego Escandon came up with the game-ending interception at the goal line to clinch it for Edmonds-Woodway.

Rashaad Gerona Chatters added a rushing touchdown for Edmonds-Woodway (6-2 overall, 5-1 Wesco 3A South), which faces the Wesco 3A North No. 2 next week.

Arian Motaghedi scored on a 1-yard quarterback sneak with 2:58 remaining to give Mountlake Terrace its 10-7 lead. Zaveon Jones added a safety for the Hawks (5-3, 4-2), who face North No. 5 Stanwood in an elimination game next week.

Monroe 55, Snohomish 7

MONROE — The Bearcats warmed up for their big Week 9 matchup against Arlington with a dominating effort against the Panthers.

Blake Springer threw six touchdown passes to lead Monroe (8-0 overall, 6-0 Wesco 3A South), which faces Arlington in the battle of Wesco No. 1 seeds next week. Aaron Clifton and Matthew Rodriguez each caught two of those touchdown passes, with others going to Nick Mouser and Ryan Miller. Mason Davis added rushing and punt return touchdowns.

Snohomish (2-6, 2-4) still qualified for the Week 9 crossovers as the No. 5 seed from the South and will face the North No. 3 in an elimination game next week.

Shorecrest 31, Shorewood 8

SHORELINE — The Scots secured a place in the Week 9 crossovers with the victory over the crosstown-rival Stormrays.

Danny Stephenson rushed for two touchdowns and passed for one for Shorecrest (3-5 overall, 3-3 Wesco 3A South), which clinched the Wesco 3A South No. 4 seed with the victory. Gus Hamilton caught a touchdown pass and Jake Lockwood ran for a TD for the Scots, who will face the North No. 4 for a spot in the Week 10 playoffs.

Tyler Giles scored a late rushing touchdown for Shorewood (2-6, 1-5), which was eliminated from crossover contention.

Northwest 2A

Archbishop Murphy 17, Sedro-Woolley 13

EVERETT — Jack Sievers hauled in a touchdown pass from Jovin Shoker in the fourth quarter for the decisive score as the Wildcats knocked off the Cubs.

Archbishop Murphy improved to 4-4 overall and 3-3 Northwest 2A. Sedro-Woolley dropped to 5-3, 3-3.

Lynden 50, Lakewood 12

ARLINGTON — The Cougars fell to 2-5 overall and 1-4 in Northwest 2A with the loss to the Lions (7-1, 6-0).

Emerald Sound Conference

King’s 52, Granite Falls 28

GRANITE FALLS — The Knights broke open a close game by scoring 31 straight points, and King’s kept its perfect season alive with the victory over the Tigers.

King’s scored a field goal on the final play of the first half to take a slender 24-21 lead into halftime. However, Noah Clark threw touchdown passes to Colton Adams and Jack Fuller, while Braeden Caulk and Garrett Hagen ran for scores as the Knights pulled away in the second half.

King’s (8-0 overall, 3-0 Emerald Sound Conference) can clinch the Emerald Sound Conference title with a victory over Cedar Park Christian next week.

Kaden LaPlaunt threw three touchdown passes to Johnathan Roberts and ran for the other score for Granite Falls (6-2, 2-1), which would have clinched the conference title with a victory.

Sultan 32, South Whidbey 29

SULTAN — The Turks rallied from a 22-point deficit, with Julio Vargas’ fourth-quarter kickoff return for a touchdown being the game-winning score as Sultan defeated the Falcons.

In the second half Kaden Koehler threw a touchdown pass to Vargas, then tossed two to Hayden Murphy as Sultan surged to a 26-22 fourth-quarter lead after trailing 22-0 in the second. Then after South Whidbey scored to reclaim the lead, Vargas returned the ensuing kick 70 yards for what proved to be the winning score.

Derek Feltner added a rushing touchdown for Sultan (5-3 overall, 1-3 Emerald Sound Conference).

South Whidbey fell to 2-6, 0-3.

Cascade 31, Cedarcrest 21

DUVALL — Andi Cosme scored three touchdowns, and the Bruins pulled off a surprise by defeating the Red Wolves.

Cosme scored on an interception return and also caught two long touchdown passes from Zach Surowiec. The second of those TD catches was an 86-yarder that came after the Bruins, who led 24-7 in the third quarter, saw their lead shrink to 24-21 in the fourth.

Brandon Lagutang also ran for a score for Cascade (3-4).

Cedarcrest fell to 6-2.

Lindbergh 14, Mariner 12

EVERETT — The Marauders dropped to 0-8 with the loss to the Eagles. Lindbergh improved to 4-4.

Darrington 46, Charles Wright 42

TACOMA — The Loggers pulled out a squeaker in a back-and-forth encounter against the Tarriers.

Mikey Soito ran for 166 yards and three touchdowns and also caught a TD to lead Darrington (7-1). Hunter Anderson was 7-for-11 passing for 154 yards and two scores, while also running for a touchdown for the Loggers.

Charles Wright fell to 3-4.

Everett 21, Meadowdale 14

EDMONDS — Michael Noland had a passing touchdown and a rushing touchdown, and Mauricio Garcia-Luna had a crucial late interception as the Seagulls outlasted the Mavericks.

Noland’s 11-yard touchdown run in the third quarter gave Everett a 21-14 lead. Meadowdale drove deep into Seagull territory late in the game, but Garcia-Luna intercepted a pass in the end zone to thwart the Mavericks’ chance at a tie or a win.

Ian Hendry caught the touchdown pass and Evan Hartt added a rushing touchdown for Everett (3-5).

Cameron Platt carried 20 times for 90 yards and two touchdowns to lead Meadowdale (3-5).
