If they’re here for work, let them in

Now that I have achieved geezer status, I find that my opinions have gained value to me. That said, here I go: With regard to immigration, let’s fund more border patrol, more customs officials and more temporary housing.

We need more border patrol to secure who comes into the country. We need more customs officials who can determine who is safe to enter the country and who is not. This is a huge responsibility! These same officials should be able to issue documents and green cards to those people who genuinely want to pursue the American Dream; get jobs, pay taxes, qualify for health care, and contribute to our economy (revenue).

Those who do not, need to be either vigorously expelled or jailed with prejudice, depending on their intentions. We need funding for more temporary housing for those who really want to pursue the American Dream, so that they can actually succeed and thrive in this country. Let them apply for jobs.

Chances are, they’ll accept positions that current Americans don’t want. They’re not stealing jobs from us, they’re doing the jobs that most Americans often deem beneath us. We can do with the further boost to our economy as well. They’re not vermin, they’re potential wage earners. Think about it, really!
