Herald should allow reporters time to research

Published 1:30 am Sunday, December 15, 2024

I understand the need to create benchmarks and goals for employees. But setting a quota for journalists to achieve seems wrong. As a consumer and subscriber of The Herald, I want well researched and thoughtful articles. If a journalist has to put together a minimum of x amount of stories a day, then they won’t have the time to do the research and write a thoughtful article. This really would make me not trust the news coming from The Herald if it moves forward this way.

Find other ways to manage performance. Don’t treat them like an assembly line.
