New Year’s Resolutions

2025 goals for The Herald

Suggested New Year resolutions for The Herald:

I will stop publishing opinion pieces that are clearly biased and are good only to fuel further division.

I will do my best to fact-check the fact checkers.

I will find news sources that reflect better the middle-of-the-road perspective most people have around here.

I will no longer endorse political candidates.

I will provide a platform to diverse views that are genuine, valid and well-meaning but do not match my editorial viewpoint.

I will always do some basic spell checking on every letter I publish.

I will allow people to leave online comments again.

I will introduce local non-profits covering their work regularly.

I will ask local community leaders to share their thoughts on various issues outside of politics.

I will write articles about our local history, events, places and most importantly the people who made significant contributions to this county.

I will introduce local artists, cover exhibitions and cultural events more frequently.

I will give voice to young people, asking them about their challenges, hopes.

I will give some discount to seniors who subscribe.
