Coast Guard rescues woman from water miles off Edmonds Pier

EVERETT — The U.S. Coast Guard pulled a woman from the Puget Sound nearly 2 miles off the Edmonds waterfront on Friday night.
Rescue crews were dispatched to Snohomish County on Friday evening after someone called 911 saying a person was in the water near the Edmonds Pier, according to a post shared by the U.S. Coast Guard Northwest on Facebook.
The Coast Guard sent teams from Seattle, Port Angeles and off the Coast Guard Cutter Blue Shark, the post said. South County Fire and the Washington State Ferries also assisted in the response.
During the search, an aircrew from a Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin, a twin-enginge helicopter, used a handheld night vision device to find the missing woman about 2 miles from the shore in Edmonds, the Coast Guard said.
Video from the rescue shows crews hoisting the woman from the water before flying her to Emergency Medical Services waiting at Paine Field in Everett, according to the post.
