Everett Community College: Students perform original comedy sketches on stage at 7 p.m. May 20 at EvCC’s Baker Hall, room 120. EvCC is one of three schools working with SketchFest Seattle members to develop comedy skills and create a short set. Students will perform at the three schools and end the tour with a show at 7 p.m. May 27 at The Pocket Theatre in Seattle, where they will open for Seattle sketch comedy group Day Job. Students participating include Sean Costello, Casey Cummins, Caitlin Goldsberry, Tyler Hamilton, Sarah Hudson, Jacy Leavitt, Christa Moushey, Colin Pinter, Josh Read and Carl Rodriguez. Performance coaches are EvCC theater instructor Beth Peterson and comedian Clayton Weller. The show includes mature content. Children age 6 and younger should not attend. Admission by donation. Red Curtain: Red Curtain Foundation for the Arts, a nonprofit arts education organization, has launched its Founding Donors community giving program, an opportunity to support the creation of an arts center in Marysville. The 2016-2017 season at the Red Curtain Community Arts Center features three plays carried over from the interrupted 2015-2016 season — “The Fantasticks,” “Arsenic and Old Lace” and “You Can’t Take It With You” — along with “Santa Claus Conquers the Martians,” “A Streetcar Named Desire” and “Noises Off!” Tickets are $17 for adults, $14 for seniors/students/military and $5 for children. Season tickets, which go on sale June 1, are $92 for adults and $75 for seniors, students and military personnel.
